Good morning!
So it is Saturday and Maddy is in her trusted swing, awaiting the arrival of her grandma Jeanine and Henry. She has a full belly and has enjoyed a morning walk and some exciting Xbox 360 with her daddy. Yesterday she went to the doctor to see about her seemingly distended belly and she has a diagnosis of infant dyschazia.....a fancy way of saying gas build up. Apparently, she has not quite figured out how to properly pass gas through her little body. Instead of using the muscles we all know to use, she is using her abdominal muscles to accompish the task and that is why she turns bright red and grunts like a man. Her daddy and I kindly show her how to successfully pass gas without rupturing a membrane but she hasn't caught on yet. It is something that could end sponataneaously (which would be great) or could continue until about 3 months. Either way, it was good to find out what is going on and to know that she is okay and normal. While we were there, they weighed her again and she is up to 7 lbs. 2 ounces. This diagnosis is obviously not interfering with her desire to eat:)
Anyway, that is what is happening here in the Huff household. We are looking forward to the weekend with Jeanine and Henry and I am sure we will have updates by the start of the week.
Have a great weekend!

Her swing...my savior

Good morning!
Today is a good day. I was able to get a nice hot shower, long enough to shave BOTH legs without a peep from the bambino. Thank goodness for her swing. Her aunt Sarah gave us the swing and the music and lights mesmerize her for the perfect amount of time. Fortunately I grew up going to summer camp and boarding school so I learned early on to take quick showers.....it's amazing where experiences like those come in so handy at times like this:)
Maddy will be three weeks old tomorrow ALREADY and she is changing everyday. One thing that never changes is this child's ability to push and grunt like a man. She is plagued with a sensitive tummy and battles gas pretty much all the time but she manages to get through it...poor little thing.
Thanks for keeping up with Maddy and our weekly events. She has a lunch date today with her future man....Kev....very exciting stuff! This weekend she gets to meet her grandma Jeanine and Henry for the first time and she is VERY EAGER for that!
Have a great Thursday.

This little piggy went to the doctor.....

Hello!
It is Tuesday and Clint and I enjoyed a long weekend together. My sister and nieces visited Maddy over the weekend and we had a great time. On Sunday Clint and I took Maddy to her first BBQ and she was a perfect little angel.....that is pretty easy to do at 2 weeks old:)
Today I took Maddy to the doctor for a weight check and the little piglet gained 8 more ounces in 8 days. She now weighs 6 lbs. 12 oz.; a long way from 5 lbs. 9 ounces when she left the hospital. She has also gotten big enough for a pacifier..yay for me and certain body parts that belong to me. Aunt Sheri gave me some suggestions and it worked. Thanks Sheri!! The first time I introduced a pacifier to her, it gaggged her and she threw up all over the place; today has been a more successful experience.
I have included a picture of Maddy and her daddy. She LOVES to lie on Clint's chest and just stare at him. I of course think it is the cutest thing ever so I took a picture to share with the blog world, I hope you enjoy.
