Just Chillin-

During these early days of life we don't do many exciting things. Maddy did go on her first of many trips to Target this morning. Clint and I timed it just right, like we have been doing this for months. We managed to make a stop so Maddy could meet her Aunt Sheri, Uncle Skip and two cousins Gabriel and Olivia, then we went to Petco for Cailin and onto Target for a number of random items before arriving back at home JUST in time for Maddy to get what she wants most.....FOOD!!!! We have had a lot of visitors throughout the weekend and Maddy has been her angelic self for everyone. She also had her second night this week of sleeping 6 straight hours in the middle of the night...LOVIN- IT!!!! We don't set expectations at this point for it to happen again, we simply celebrate when it does:)
Clint goes back to work this week, so my mom will be coming to stay with us for the week while I continue to recover from surgery. I am sure we will get some great photos during the week to share, so make sure to check back in a few days for an update on things in the Huff household.

Making it Work

MAKING IT WORK
Well it is Thursday and we have been home for 3 days now and we are finding ways to make it all work. Clint has been home this week and I couldn't imagine these days without him; next week will be a new adjustment. Maddy had her first pediatrician appointment on Tuesday and continues to grow and gain weight. They had to prick her little heel again and she didn't think that was too fun but she made it. I had an appoitnment yesterday to get my staples out and while I was in the back, Clint and Maddy made their debut in the waiting room. Everyone stopped to admire all of her hair (indigestion has never been so worth something) and ooh and aawww at how little she is.
Last night was a big night; Maddy ate at 11:15 then I had to wake her at 5:15 to eat again. I was very excited she chose the middle of the night to use her one 6 hour stretch she gets in a days time to not eat! Trust me, I have no expectations for tonight, but it would be nice. Cailin seems to be adjusting more and more to this little being that fell into her world on Monday and she loves to come into the nursery when Maddy is eating; she is very protective.
Anyway, a couple of new pictures for your viewing pleasure. We'll keep you up to date on her growth and daily "newisms."

More on Maddy

As we continue to get more acquainted with Madison and the world as new parents, we get better about taking pictures to share with you along this journey. Maddy and Steph came home from the hospital today and we are settling into things at home. Cailin is a bit confused but she is making it:) It is important that she be a part of this blog too. Here are some recent photos of Maddy at 3 days old.

And so it begins...

Hello there. Welcome to our Blogg! Our daughter Madison Rae was born on 8/18/06 at about 10:00 in the morning. As you can see, she was lucky enough to get her mom's good looks. We'll do our best to put updates and pics up when we can. Right now, Steph is in the hospital recovering, and I am home picking up a bit before they both come home tomorrow morning. We thank all of you for the well- wishes and prayers over the last 38 weeks. It feels like just a few weeks ago that we learned that were going to have a baby. I can hardly believe that she is here. I suppose everything will set in tomorrow when we bring her home to our lives. For now, these are the only two pictures that I have. I apologize that they are not more detailed, but the came from my phone so I will take what I can get. Any way, I am glad that my parents didn't put a picture of me naked and barely a minute old on the internet...Not even a day old and she has already been embarrassed by her father....And people say this parenting thing is tough. Wish us luck, and check back for more in a few days. Until then, I am going to get some rest. I hear that I am going to need it.
